Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a condition that leads to the slow loss of nerve fibres in the optic nerve. If it is left untreated, this can lead to loss of peripheral vision. If glaucoma progresses though, it can start to affect central vision.

Most people with glaucoma are completely unaware until a routine check by their optometrist / optician picks something up. Patients are then referred for specialist advice and assessment.

In most cases, some eye drops will bring the pressure down and control glaucoma.

Mr Davey provides a one stop consultation with a comprehensive assessment including visual field test and pressure measurements, with the added benefit of a corneal Pachymeter to give a high precision reading at the Holmfirth Eye Clinic, the Yorkshire Eye Hospital and the BMI Hospital, Huddersfield.
